Eau Claire Velo Club

The Alleycat was beautiful. Honestly. Parr, if you are reading this, thank you for the well planned routes and God, if you exist.. Thank you for the beautiful weather. It was definitely a task going back into work after the race and cliff jumping.. seeing old friends. God this day was nice.. The night finished off just as well. Magyar and David ripping it up shirtless on the dance floor at Scooters and round robin hugs at the hilltop. Well done.

Ok. Now back to the grim reality that is work.
This job.. if I can call it that.. Has been taking up way too much time. I need some bike time. Like now. I cannot wait for Thursday. Friday I will have my new wheelset and grips! This week is shaping up to be alright.

Now all I need to do is save the money for the jig and brazing equipment and move to Portland (or anywhere for a while). Life will be alright..

Sorry for the random nothingness I have presented you with.
Now back to "work".

Blood thirsty Thursday night ride!

For all of you who are not aware of Thursday night rides here in E.C... Well, we ride bikes every Thursday night .. Sometimes it is biking with a bit of drinking, sometimes it's drinking and a bit of biking. Anyway, tonight was definitely almost entirely full of biking. The night started of with Scott breaking his chain and having to go back to the shop and meet up with us later.. A small set back.. But then we have Andy out by the mall.. All of us taking this super steep hill.. What does Andy's chain do? Comes off.. Nice tumble to safety in the grass, by the way sir. But it seems as though that wasn't enough.. On the return trip home, some fucking curb comes up and is all like "fuck you, Andy.. You aren't going anywhere and I am going to bust the fuck out of your fork, kill your tire, and bend your deep v.. I despise you". That curb was an asshole and a night killer.. Then we have Ryan getting hit by a car the prior week? It seems as though it has wised us all up a bit.. Some people bought helmets.. others, like myself, have decide to install a front brake. Man, I wonder what next week will be like!

By the way, the Madison rides beautifully... I love this bike already and it is only going to get better.. I am exhausted, back to Svedka.. Goodnight.

Madison, you sweet thing!

My Schwinn Madison has arrived today. I have not been able to get it yet, due to the fact that I am at work until later this evening. I am going to hit the bike trail at 11 p.m. this evening for the 10 mile ride to my new bike! I cannot wait to break this thing in, luckily for me I have the next 2 days off! Woo. I will let you all know how the bike works and whatnot, call it a review. I am stoked for the Alleycat on Saturday and the Thursday night ride tomorrow! See you guys there.

Getting hit by cars.. A profitable decision or tragedy?

I feel this post is necessary after seeing a local Eau Claire fixed gear riders new bike today. As some of you may have known, he was hit by a car sometime last week and the women agreed to buy him a new bike... Well here it is.. A brand new EAI Bareknuckle.. Doesn't stop there.. what about the Sugino 75 bottom bracket and cranks? Hardly jealous I suppose, I mean my Madison will suffice, but for free? Same thing had crossed my head when my friend was struck and ended up getting missed work compensation and a brand new wheelset worth 2 times the amount of the orginals. Ah.. Maybe I should reconsider this whole work thing and just ride my bike more recklessly.. Eh.

Cherry Poppin'

Well, I suppose this is to be my blog from now on. I have decided after reading numerous blogs on downtime at work that maybe I should dare to start my own... Let you all in on my life. I figure maybe, just maybe, I will entertain one or two of you in some way. My life consists of bicycles, friends, adventures, heckling and people watching. I am forced to be fake 40 hours per week as I work in a call center. It's painful and the amount of talking I do makes me almost anti-social.. but I have plenty of time to be realistic with my friends and family. I guess I really don't know what to do with this account after this entry but stay tuned as I will be writing semi-regularly.
